Northfield Golf Tips

  1. Stretch before swinging
  2. Have fun with the game. It’s a recreational game that should relax you not frustrate you
  3. Keep your eyes on the ball
  4. Bend your knees, like you are going to sit down, place your feet below your shoulders
  5. Your ball placement is important, use the distance between your feet, clubs are different sizes which makes each position of the ball different
  6. Balance is very important, don’t sway forward or sideways, before/during and after your swing
  7. Practice with your 7 Iron, it will build your confidence
  8. The grip is most important. A proper grip will enable you to do many things with the golf ball
  9. Body position/posture – relax your arms. When at address position, this gives you the action to swing through the ball, with your fluent swing
  10. Timing is important, you should be facing the target when you complete your swing

  12. Go back to your basic fundamentals. Your Grip / Stance / Back Swing / Forward Swing / Body Position and Pivot
  13. Always wear Sunscreen and a hat for those hot days and drink plenty of fluids
  14. Consult your doctor before swinging, if you are experiencing any pain or if your not experiencing pain, and you swing improperly you could damage your muscles. A physician and a golf instructor can help you swing without injury
Use your Golf etiquette on the Golf Course, but keep up your practice on the driving range. The 4 R’s are important.

  • R epair your ball mark on the green
  • R espect of fellow golfers, be patient and keep your pace
